– Update details for Relatives of Residents

General communication

We will continue to update you by text and email when there is any important news to communicate or significant changes:

• Texts will generally be issued twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays.
• Update emails will be circulated on a fortnightly basis and other emails, as and when there is specific news to communicate
• Our Therapy Team are facilitating as many FaceTime, Skype or voice calls as possible, for those residents who require assistance to make such calls and this service will continue. (Please allow at least 3 clear days’ notice to schedule a video or voice call if you can, although we will try and work around you if an emergency should arise. If you need to cancel a scheduled call, please let us know as we may be able to offer the slot to someone else, again much appreciated at this difficult time).
• A member of the nursing team will contact the next of kin promptly if there are any concerns regarding a resident, whether related to Covid-19 or otherwise.

Residents

We will be posting photographs and videos of various Christmas activities on our website and Facebook and Instagram and our website over the next couple of weeks.

Visiting Arrangements

In accordance with the latest government guidelines, we will continue to offer restricted access ‘window’ visiting whereby residents remain inside and visitors sit outside. We are mindful that these are very stressful times for you all and we are endeavouring to accommodate as many visits as possible within the constraints of the guidance. We do have to adhere to the guidance at all times as the safety of all residents remains our priority but we acknowledge that these are difficult circumstances for everyone. Please rest assured that we are doing all that we can to facilitate as much contact as possible between residents and their families.

There are still a few slots available for Christmas Eve visiting – please email if you wish to book a slot. These will also be restricted access visits unless the government guidance alters between now and then.

Residents who have previously undertaken home visits, also have the option of a home visit on Christmas Day – if you would like to arrange this please email no later than 10 December 2020 so that we can facilitate this. Under current government guidance this will necessitate residents quarantining in their rooms for 14 days after a home visit. This of course subject to government guidelines as to who is eligible for home visits.

We have not yet finalised any visiting arrangements for New Year but will update you as soon as we have further news. At present we are awaiting the latest guidance from Public Health England and we continue to review this daily.
